Emma Crozier

WIA Emma Crozier

My name is Emma Crozier and I hail from Ngāti Whātua ki Kaipara and Ngāti Kahu. I am Māmā to my two amazing boys, Nikau and Kianni. I am the Senior People & Culture Advisor at the National Hauora Coalition (NHC). Prior to my position at NHC, I was the People & Culture Advisor – Kaupapa Māori at the Museum of Transport & Technology (MOTAT).

I find it challenging to write about myself. If someone were to ask me what I do for mahi, I would say I’m a People & Culture Generalist. The end. So… I asked a colleague who is tūturu in this space to sum me up, and here is what she wrote:

“Emma is a powerhouse wahine Māori who prioritises people over everything else. Her deep understanding of the values embedded in our culture enables her to relate to our diverse kaimahi, to keep them invested in the kaupapa, and to actually understand how their own values tie into the bigger picture. She is tika in all the mahi she engages in and as a result, is a master of authentic engagement. She has worked across the full span of people and culture and that’s evidenced in how she advocates for our kaimahi, making them feel safe, while protecting and uplifting the mana or our organisation. A mana wahine in all forms”.
